EMIS capacity and priority identification: a web-based country survey for Ministry of Education personnel in Sub-Saharan Africa


Data collection and statistical analysis: findings on the capacity of African Education Ministries

This report presents the results of a survey to gauge the capacity levels of Anglophone African Education Ministries’ statistics offices. It presents information provided by statisticians, planners and computer specialists from the Ministries on:

  • institutional information
  • data collection and processing
  • human and technical resources involved in statistical information systems
  • information services, publication, dissemination and use of statistical outputs
  • examples of good practices, challenges and country priorities.
Survey respondents included statisticians, planners and computer specialists from Ministries of Education from Ghana, The Gambia, Mozambique, Eritrea, Zambia, Liberia, Tanzania, Zanzibar, Malawi, Namibia, Burundi, Botswana, Sierra Leone, Swaziland and Seychelles.
